WEDDING TENTS

photo from Pacific Party Rentals

When selecting your tent for your wedding, consider more than just the price. The guest count, food service, dance floor, location size, bar area, lounge area, guest dining, wedding style, and weather are all factors to consider.

According to one online source, "When ordering a tent, you will need to know how large a size you will need for your event. For a small group of 25 people, you will want a smaller structure with a more intimate feel, while larger groups will require much larger accommodations. When in doubt between tent sizes, the experts recommend going with the larger option to ensure your guests won’t feel crowded. Some things to remember include that you will need about two feet around the entire outside of your tent. In addition, not only will you need to fit your guests, but you will also need to add in room for the bar, cake table, band or DJ, buffet tables and dance bar. One tent company says that the average size tent for a wedding is 2400 square feet. Further, here is a “rule of thumb” that some companies offer for couples to help determine what they will need for their event:

For the ceremony, assume you need about 6 square feet per person.

For dinner, you need between 8 to 12 square feet for each guest (figure on the lower end for rectangular tables and the higher end for round).

For the dance floor, 2 square feet per person (but remember they won’t all be dancing at the same time).

Serving tables for a buffet need about 100 square feet, while the DJ can take up 200 square feet."

Here are some helpful links to select the appropriate tent and size for your wedding.

INDIAN WEDDING IN MAUI

Our clients were Indian and had never even attended an American style wedding. Their wedding/elopement to Maui (where they were engaged) would be their first American style wedding. The Muslim Groom and Hindu Bride incorporated some Indian traditions into their wedding, such as Henna tattoos for the bride, the necklace ceremony, and dinner at an oceanfront Indian restaurant. They also included some island themed elements in their ceremony, such as the sand ceremony, dove release, and a seashell themed wedding cake. Arriving by limousine with their friends, photographer Mike Sidney greeted them at the Wailea Beach Marriott's beautiful lobby and led them to the Kaho'olawe Lawn where their ceremony took place. Colorful decor and flowers were provided by Dellables.  The heartfelt ceremony was officiated by Rev. Jill Carl. Celia Canty, the harpist, played a wonderful arrangement of songs during the ceremony (before and after, too!). Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed champagne, sparkling cider, and a delicious cake while admiring the amazing ocean view and breeze. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a fantastic and intimate dinner at an oceanfront Indian restaurant called Shangri-la in Kihei. A perfect and colorful wedding experience for all!

SHERWOODS BEACH WEDDING

What a beautiful day it was at Sherwoods Beach! Our couple decided to elope from Northern Island. They loved every minute of their wedding, including the limousine service from Ali Limo, the flowers from Emi's Flowers, Kahu Dave Vega's wonderful ceremony, Tori's beach recommendation, Tori's set up of the ceremony, their photographer Elizabeth Morgan, the harpist Sharene Lum, videography by Act One Video, wedding coordination by Hawaiian Island Wedding Planners, and dinner at the Beach House @ the Moana Westin. Enjoy some of my amateur photos that I was able to take without interfering with the two photographers.

ERICA & EDWARD'S BLUE & GREEN WEDDING THEME

The couple's color theme was aqua blue, lime green, and white. The bold colors were a perfect match for this exquisite oceanfront estate's magnificent ocean view. Always Flowers created the floral decor.
GUEST DINING TABLES: Limes were used to display the guests's name and placed at each setting (assigned seats).  Each guest received a favor placed in a lime Chinese take-out  box, containing Chinese Tea Cookies. Centerpieces of submerged green cymbidium orchids and white river rocks ran the length of the dining table, resting on Monsterra leaves and lauhala mats. Purple dendrobium orchids were scattered down the center. Votive holders lined the table, as well, but we used battery operated tea lights (the wind tends to keep the candles from staying lit for outdoor events).

DINING ROOM TABLE:  White branches, hanging crystals, and green cymbidium orchids made up this lovely display.

CEREMONY: The couple provided lanterns that we hung for them. The unity candles were made by the couple. The fabric belongs to Hawaiian Island Wedding Planners, which adorned the 4-pole arch.

BEAUTIFUL WHITE BRIDAL BOUQUET

Always Flowers created a most beautiful bouquet for the bride according to her very specific requests. After a full two days of emailing each other, the bride and I created her bouquet design. I then relayed every detail to Todd, and he turned our vision into one amazing reality! The bride was in awe...

BEAUTIFUL WEDDING CHUPPAH!

Always Flowers did a fantastic job creating the chuppah the couple and I designed. It was romantic and elegant, without being too busy or over the top. Fabric, crystals, and beautiful orchids (dendrobium and phalaenopsis (specially ordered for the bride).
