Our clients were Indian and had never even attended an American style wedding. Their wedding/elopement to Maui (where they were engaged) would be their first American style wedding. The Muslim Groom and Hindu Bride incorporated some Indian traditions into their wedding, such as Henna tattoos for the bride, the necklace ceremony, and dinner at an oceanfront Indian restaurant. They also included some island themed elements in their ceremony, such as the sand ceremony, dove release, and a seashell themed wedding cake. Arriving by limousine with their friends, photographer Mike Sidney greeted them at the Wailea Beach Marriott's beautiful lobby and led them to the Kaho'olawe Lawn where their ceremony took place. Colorful decor and flowers were provided by Dellables. The heartfelt ceremony was officiated by Rev. Jill Carl. Celia Canty, the harpist, played a wonderful arrangement of songs during the ceremony (before and after, too!). Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed champagne, sparkling cider, and a delicious cake while admiring the amazing ocean view and breeze. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a fantastic and intimate dinner at an oceanfront Indian restaurant called Shangri-la in Kihei. A perfect and colorful wedding experience for all!
